The Town of Clayton now has their first full-time librarian cataloger.

Clayton native Gabe Johnson was introduced by library director Christie Starnes at the July 20 council meeting as the newest employee at the Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library.

Johnson, a 1995 graduate of Clayton High School, has worked at the library in a part-time capacity for the last several months. His experience includes working at libraries in Wake County Schools, North Carolina State University and an eight-year stint in Seoul, South Korea. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA), English Language and Literature from Campbell University, a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS), Academic Libraries from North Carolina Central University and a Master of Religious Education from Liberty University.

“It’s a pleasure to be back here,” said Johnson. “I appreciate the opportunity.”
