The StoryWalk concept transforms a traditional children’s story into a series of display boards placed along a walking trail. As visitors stroll along the path, they can enjoy the story one page at a time, immersing themselves in the narrative while surrounded by the serene beauty of nature. This interactive experience not only fosters a love for reading among children but also encourages families to spend quality time enjoying Clayton’s recreational facilities.

Matt Lorion, Acting Parks and Recreations Director

“The StoryWalk isn’t just a trail—it’s a unique reading experience designed for families to connect and explore the world of literature together. We take great pride in this project as it aligns seamlessly with our library’s goal to make reading accessible, engaging, and meaningful for our community,” said Joy Garretson Library Director.

State House Representative Donna White

Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library invites families, book lovers, and nature enthusiasts of all ages to explore the StoryWalk® at East Clayton Community Park and experience the joy of reading amidst the natural beauty of East Clayton Community Park.
