A 34-year-old Clayton man is behind bars after he was arrested and charged Thursday with sexual offenses against a child.
Chenault Lamont Moore is accused of taking in indecent liberties with a girl under the age of 13 and statutory sexual offense.
The victim came forward in January to report the incident. Clayton Police Detective Jason Linder worked to investigate with the help of the Johnston County District Attorney’s Office and the Johnston and Wake County Department of Social Services.
The Raleigh Police Department also assisted with the investigation and made the actual arrest in Raleigh.
Moore is being held on $80,000 bond.
