Clayton Police are looking for a suspect who shot an 18-year-old in the leg this afternoon (Friday).
The victim has been rushed to WakeMed hospital and the injuries are non-life-threatening. He was hit in the upper inner thigh.
This happened just after 3:00pm today in the front yard of 149 Honeybee Trace in the Lionsgate neighborhood.
The suspect was seen leaving in a silver Honda Accord.
Clayton Police have identifying information on the suspect and are working with other law enforcement agencies to apprehend the individual.
Clayton High School, Clayton Middle School and the nearby Clayton Community Center were all briefly placed on lock down, which has since been lifted.
