Clayton Police need your help identifying the woman in these surveillance photos who illegally used someone else’s debit card info at three different grocery stores to buy gift cards.
Police became aware of these crimes when a woman called Food Lion saying she had her debit card with her but someone must have somehow gotten her card information because she noticed an unauthorized draft of $61.06 from the Food Lion at 238 Pritchard Road on January 4th, and two similar unauthorized charges at the Food Lions on 10105 US 70 Business West in Clayton and 75 Glen Road near NC42/I-40 in Cleveland.
A total of $120 was fraudulently charged.
Criminals can often skim information off credit cards or grab them from websites and create a physical duplicate card using your card information.
The Food Lion staff located the time of the transactions and was able to search its surveillance cameras to produce images of the suspect. The woman has long braided hair. She was seen leaving the Food Lion in a dark Chrysler 200 four door passenger car.
If you recognize this woman or have any information that may help investigators, please contact Clayton Police Officer T.B. McNeill at 919-553-4611. You can remain anonymous.
