An investigation into the stabbing death of a man earlier this month near Clayton has led to the arrest of a 25 year-old woman on murder charges.
On April 4th at 3:32am, deputies with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call from a home on Liberty Lane near Clayton. Officers arrived and found Martin Garcia, 24, of Raleigh dead in the front yard of a home from apparent stab wounds.
Early in the investigation, a close female acquaintance of the victim, Deysi Yhuriko Martinez of Liberty Lane, Clayton was charged with obstruction of justice. Authorities said the fatal stabbing took place in the front yard of her residence. On April 18th an additional charge of murder was filed against Martinez.
Martinez, who had originally been held on a $500,000 bond for obstruction of justice, was held without privilege of bond after the added murder charge.
Investigators did not disclose a motive.
