Student Charged With Assault

A student at Cleveland High School is facing criminal charges following a fight on school grounds.  The affray was reported around 10:00am Thursday inside a room at the school on Polenta Road.

Officials said a 16 year-old student was assaulted and sustained a head injury.  The injury was not life threatening.

A 15 year-old student at the school was issued a juvenile petition to appear in court on a misdemeanor assault charge. The juvenile could also face suspension from Johnston County Public Schools under their Code of Conduct Policy.
