Cleveland Senior Receives Woman’s Club of Clayton Scholarship

Cleveland High School Senior Celeste Hope Whiteaker has been selected as the Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship recipient for the Woman’s Club of Clayton. 

The Woman’s Club of Clayton is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded based on character, scholastic record, demonstration of leadership and potential to succeed.

Celeste is an active member of Cleveland High School and the Cleveland community.  She currently serves as Senior Class President, Executive Officer of the National Honor Society, Key Club member, Captain of the Volleyball Team, JCPS Student Leader and has volunteered for several local organizations and events.

Celeste plans to attend UNC-Chapel Hill in the Fall and pursue a degree in Biology.
