Coat And School Supply Giveaway Set For January 31

SMITHFIELD – Local families are invited to attend the School Supply & WRAL Give a Kid a Coat Giveaway on Saturday, January 31, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Salvation Army Family Store, located at 309 N. Brightleaf Boulevard in Smithfield.

This free community event is designed to help children in need with warm coats, new outfits, and school supplies. Families with children who could benefit from additional school materials or winter clothing are encouraged to attend.

The giveaway is hosted in partnership with The Salvation Army, whose mission is “to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs without discrimination.” Through the generosity of local donors and supporters, the event aims to ease the burden many families face during the school year and colder months.

Community members are encouraged to arrive early, as supplies are available while they last. Organizers look forward to welcoming families and continuing the tradition of neighbors helping neighbors.
