Johnston County Commissioners approved loans for five water districts at their July 9th meeting.
The board agreed to borrow $1.5 million to install 10,700 feet of a 12 inch water main in the vicinity of Raleigh Road, Woodall-Dairy Road and Tarheel Roads. The funds will also be used to construct a 750,000 gallon per day booster pump station. The loan is for 20 years at 1.53 percent interest and will be funded through NC Connect Bonds.
$2.3 million will be used to install 8,900 feet of 20 inch water main from the Johnston County Water Plant to Buffalo Road in the Buffalo Water District. The loan is for 20 years at 1.53 percent interest through NC Connect Bonds. .
$2.27 million will be borrowed to pay for the installation of 11,300 feet of 12 and 16 inch water mains along Gordon Road and Wilson’s Mills Roads and a 1.5 million gallon per day booster pump station expanding to 3.7 million gallons per day. The Wilson’s Mills Water District loan is for 20 years at 1.53 percent interest. A second project in Wilson’s Mills totaling $4.7 million will fund construction of a 24 inch water main from the Water Treatment Plant to the Wilson’s Mills elevated water tank and for a booster pump station at the water treatment plant. The 20 year loan is at 1.91 percent interest.
A $2.95 million loan for the Ingrams Water District will pay for 13,500 feet of 16 inch water main along US 301 and piping connection modifications in the vicinity of the Jones Brothers tank. The loan is for 20 years at an interest rate of 1.82 percent.
