A $4,405,000 loan approved this month by the County of Johnston will be used to make improvements in the Buffalo Creek Water District.
The project, identified in the 2017 Capital Improvements Plan, is in two phases. Phase One includes the installation of 3,200 linear feet of 16 inch water lines and upgrading the Buffalo Creek Wastewater Pump Station to 5,000 gallons per minute. Phase Two is the construction of 3,600 linear feet of 24 inch water lines and 7,400 feet of a 30 inch water line.
The NC Division of Environmental Quality approved the project. The 20 year loan will be repaid with an interest rate of 1.89 percent.
