Mike-Scott-Headshot-insideA community policing meeting will take place on Saturday, April 23rd at 1:00 PM at the Mitchener Memorial Baptist Church, located at 911 Blount Street.

Hotdogs and hamburgers and drinks will be served by the police department.  Chief of Police Michael Scott said they will discuss a community police substation proposed for Blount Street later this year along with the goals and objectives of the police officer who will be assigned to this substation.

“The police department intends to open this community policing station to better serve the residents of District 1 by building improved police and community partnerships, addressing quality of life issues, building strong neighborhoods and addressing resident concerns regarding crime, traffic, noise, and police services, as well as other social issues that the neighbors in the area feel are a priority,” Chief Scott said in a news release.
