Sheriff Steve Bizzell and the concealed handgun permits team at the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has announced that effective on Monday, January 4th, 2016, resident of Johnston County may now apply for concealed handgun permits and renewals online.
By going online to www.jcso.org and selecting “gun permits,” citizens may complete the application, pay the permit fees, and schedule an appointment at the Sheriff’s Office to be fingerprinted and have the documents notarized.
The new online process is a completion of a project that was started in October 2014 when residents of Johnston County began applying for pistol purchase permits online.
