SMITHFIELD – Officers are investigating break-ins reported at two concession stands.
On May 7, a break-in was discovered at a concession stand at Smithfield Community Park on M. Durwood Stephenson Parkway. Someone forced open a metal door to gain entry. No items were missing.
On May 12, a break-in was reported at the Civitan Field at 1220 S. Brightleaf Boulevard. Forced entry had been made to a door and numerous food items were stolen.
Police do not have any evidence suggesting the two incidents are connected. At last report, no arrests had been made.
