DUNN – Congressman Wiley Nickel has announced the city of Dunn will be granted federal funds for the purchase of public works vehicles and police vehicles. The funds are authorized by the USDA Rural Development program and will provide local law enforcement and city employees with the proper vehicles to continue their important work for the people of Dunn.
“Securing this critical funding will provide needed support for Dunn to replace their outdated, high-mileage police vehicles and public works vehicles,” said Congressman Wiley Nickel. “Local taxpayers can count on their local public services to continue with this help in funding. Too often, our rural communities have been left behind, but this funding will provide a welcome and needed boost to our city services.”
The Rural Development investment will provide a grant of $75,000 and loan of $241,000 for the purchase of public works vehicles, plus a grant of $50,000 and loan of $116,000 for the purchase of police vehicles for Dunn. The purchases will include six total vehicles and any associated costs including taxes, tags, titles, and legal fees associated with the transaction.
Very glad for them!!
Typical tax-and-spend liberal Socialsts, spending federal money on non-federal expenses. If the citizens of Dunn wanted/needed these new vehicles, they should raise taxes/fees to pay for them #StopSocialsim
Federal funds have been granted to local departments for decades.
