Authorities are investigating the theft of construction equipment taken from a jobsite in the Cleveland community. The theft happened sometime between Saturday and Monday.
Representatives with Morton Trucking of Jacksonville, NC said a Caterpillar 259D Skid Steer loader and a Leonard 24 foot flat bed trailer were stolen from a construction site on Allen Road near Cleveland Road. The company also reported an electric fuel pump was stolen.
The items had a combined value of $71,200.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft. At last report the equipment had not been located.
