No injuries were reported Sunday night following a robbery at a Johnston County convenience store.
It happened around 10:45pm at the Speedway on Highway 42 near I-40.
Johnston County Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said the clerk opened the register for a transaction and the suspect reached over the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing.
The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 30 years of age, wearing a dark coat and beige pants. He was last seen running on foot towards some apartments behind the business.
