County Agrees To Boundary Line Survey

Johnston County Commissioners have agreed to be placed on a waiting list for a boundary line survey.

The NC Geodetic Survey (NCGS) has been working on surveying boundary lines through the state since 2014 as an ongoing project.

Johnston has joined Wake and Harnett counties to request a boundary line survey for their respective borders. There are no known issues, but a survey could change the county boundaries by a few feet.

The request will place the 3 counties on a waiting list for a survey. The actual project would not begin for another two to three years.

The purpose of the survey is to establish precise boundaries for landowners, governments and surveyors.
