County Approves $2.25 Million Bid For Buffalo Water District Upgrades

Johnston County Commissioners have awarded a $2,252,760 bid to make improvements to the Buffalo Water District.

The project includes 8,800 linear feet of 20 inch water main from the Johnston County Water Treatment Plant to Buffalo Road.

Four bids were received for the project.  J F Wilkerson Contracting Company Inc. of Morrisville was the low bidder at $2,523,950.  The Johnston County Utilities Department was able to revise plans on how to cross the Neuse River with the new water main and reduced the contract amount to $2,252,760. The new, lower amount was unanimously approved by Commissioners.
