The department has grown from two employees in 1988 to more than 200 workers in the Fire, EMS and Emergency Management Divisions of Johnston County Emergency Services.

A retirement reception was held for Robertson last week at the Johnston County Agricultural Center in Smithfield.

“Kim has had an incredible career in emergency services,” according to Johnston County Manager Rick Hester. “Our emergency services programs in Johnston County are in great shape due to her leadership. We appreciate all she has done. We will miss her.”

“We admire her generous heart and selfless dedication to help others, and we know that she will continue to support our community long after her retirement,” stated Kevin Hubbard, Deputy Director of Johnston County Emergency Services.

Hester announced today that Hubbard will serve as the interim emergency services director starting Tuesday until a permanent replacement can he hired.
