Following a closed session at their July 9th monthly meeting, Johnston County Commissioners agreed to purchase two lots on North Peedin Avenue near the intersection of Rains Crossroads Road.
One lot is owned by Gencom, Inc. The second lot is owned by Genesis Living Inc. Both businesses have the same Garner address.
County of Johnston attorney Jennifer Slusser said the two tracts of land total approximately 1.01 acres and will be purchased for $25,000. That is well below the combined appraised value of $57,400.
The property will be used for the expansion of county public utility infrastructure in the area.
