Johnston County has agreed to extend a cellular telephone site lease agreement with New Cingular Wireless PCS that was set to expire in 2020.
New Cingular Wireless leases space on top of the Archer Lodge Water Tank for a cellular antenna. The new lease will pay Johnston County $29,250 per year for 5 years. The lease has two 5-year options with a 10 percent increase at the beginning of each term extension.
Under the old lease signed in 2005, Johnston County was paid $22,500 yearly with a 1.5 percent increase every two years.
