Johnston County Commissioners have approved the surplus and auction of 21 vehicles.
Sheriff Steve Bizzell received approval to sale 19 Ford Crown Victorias with mileage ranging from 117,282 to 159,762. Bizzell told commissioners the vehicles are all in need of major mechanical repairs.
Bizzell also received permission to sale a 2003 Chevy Avalanche seized during a drug investigation. The court system turned the vehicle back over to the sheriff’s office after the defendants trial. Proceeds from the sale of the Avalanche will go to the Johnston County school system.
The Disabled American Veterans also received approval to auction off a 2004 Ford Van.
Johnston County Building and Grounds also were given permission to surplus two zero turn mowers and a 2002 model landscape trailer.
The items will be sold on Saturday, March 26th at 10:00 am at the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Fleet Services Building, located at 60 Shelter Way in Smithfield. Randy Wester Auction Company of Benson will conduct the sale.
