A two vehicle accident shut down a section of Highway 42 east of Clayton for nearly two hours Tuesday morning.
The collision occurred at 5:45am on Highway 42 at King Road near Atkinson Milling Company.
A blue Mercury Sable and black Jeep collided at the intersection. The driver of the Mercury was taken to the hospital for treatment of possible serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic was detoured around the accident scene for nearly two hours until the wreckage could be cleared.
