Deaths Of Two People Being Treated As Possible Homicides

The deaths of two people overnight are being investigated as possible homicides.

Around 6:30pm Friday, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an unresponsive person on Greg Drive near Goldsboro. When officers arrived on the scene they located 53 year-old Randy Grady of Greg Drive.

Officials said Grady got into a physical altercation with an acquaintance. After the altercation he collapsed and later died.  An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Around 12:30am Saturday, deputies responded to a business on Highway 117 South.  Officers said 25 year-old Joshua Omar Forbes of Day Circle, Goldsboro had gone to a home on Bryan Boulevard, also in Goldsboro, where he got into a confrontation with an unnamed person.

During the confrontation Forbes was shot. He ran to a vehicle and the individuals inside the car began driving him to the hospital. On the way to the hospital they stopped in the business parking lot on US 117 South to summoned help.  EMS crews arrived and the victim was pronounced deceased.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said both incidents remain under investigation and both are initially being treated as possible homicides.
