A 60 year-old woman was not harmed during an attempted burglary at her home Monday night.
The victim said she was at home alone around 8:00pm when she heard someone attempt to push on her locked back door and turn the door knob.
The victim armed herself then called her husband who was at a nearby church. He and several deputies arrived on the scene quickly but the suspect had already fled from the area.
The incident occurred on Mt. Pleasant Road about two miles off Highway 50 North of McGee’s Crossroads.
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said there was no damage to the rear door. Authorities do not have any suspects in the case however the case has been assigned to the detectives division.
