A Johnston County pet owner startled two people trying to steal her dog early-Tuesday morning.
Around 12:45am today, a Princeton woman said she was awakened by the sound of her dog continuously barking outside her home on Howell Road near Baker’s Chapel Road.
She walked outside and saw a white female in her yard attempting to coax the animal to go to her. A white male was sitting inside the driver’s seat of a dark color SUV in the driveway. Once the couple was spotted they quickly fled in the SUV.
The animal was not harmed. The incident is under investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and appears to be isolated.
