JOHNSTON COUNTY – On Wednesday July 21st and Thursday, July 22nd, over 20 deputy sheriffs took to the streets to verify addresses of all 287 registered sex offenders that are currently residing in Johnston County.
During the two day operation, deputies made contact with all 287 people that are currently registered on the NC Sex Offender Registry. Deputies found that all sex offenders were in compliance.
“I want to thank the deputies for going door to door across our county to personally ensure that these individuals are living where they say they are. We will continue to be proactive to ensure that our communities are a safe place to live, work and raise our family,” said Sheriff Steve Bizzell.”

I was worried my neighbor had done something sick again when I saw the deputy over there. Thankfully not. We definitely have an awesome group of deputies and other law enforcement officers in this county. Thank God we probably have the best sheriff there is. I hope and pray they all stay safe and continue to do an awesome job.
