BENSON – A section of Raleigh Road outside of Benson was closed Thursday afternoon following a three vehicle crash. The collision was reported shortly after 1:00pm in the 7700 block of Raleigh Road, south of Highway 210.
The crash involved a marked Johnston County sheriff’s deputy cruiser, a Jeep being driven by a US mail carrier and a blue Toyota Prius. The driver of the Jeep and Toyota sustained non-life threatening injuries. The deputy was checked out at the scene but was not transported to the hospital.
The State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the collision.
Johnston County EMS, 50-210 EMS, the Elevation Fire Department and 50-210 Fire Department responded.
