A Smithfield man is facing a felony drug charge after his arrest by a sheriff’s deputy. Just before3:00 PM Wednesday, the deputy was in the parking lot of a convenience store on East Market Street at Interstate 95 in Smithfield when he allegedly witnessed what appeared to be a drug transaction.
The deputy began following the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on US 70 East. The driver of the car, identified as 20 year-old Wiley Logan Parham of Brogden School Road, allegedly admitting to having cocaine in his vehicle.
Officers reportedly seized 1 gram of suspected cocaine and arrested Parham on a single felony count of possession of cocaine. He was transported to the Johnston County Jail and given a $10,000 bond.
