Detectives Hope New Tips Will Help Solve 2018 Goldsboro Homicide

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Eight years after Brennan Keith Hash was fatally shot, Goldsboro police are renewing their appeal for information in hopes of bringing closure to his family and solving the case.

Hash was shot on Sept. 22, 2018, after officers responded around 8:05 p.m. to the 700 block of Longleaf Avenue. Police found Hash suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, he died from his injuries.

Detectives with the Goldsboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division launched a homicide investigation that remains active today.

Although years have passed, investigators said they continue to pursue leads and are asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.

“Even the smallest detail could prove critical in advancing the investigation,” the department said in a statement.

Police said Hash’s death left behind three children who have grown up without their father.

“Mr. Hash’s life was tragically taken in an act of senseless violence, leaving behind three children who have grown up without their father,” the department said. “His family continues to seek answers and justice.”
