SMITHFIELD – An inmate at the Johnston County Detention Center is charged with assaulting a detention officer.
On October 21, a detention officer was handing out food trays when an inmate, Larry Jermaine Session, 39, of Clayton allegedly slapped a tray out of the officers hands and shoved him. The officer was not injured.
Session had been in custody since October 18 after his arrest for violating a domestic violence protective order and probation violation.
