CLAYTON – Celebrate National Craft Month this March with free online access to Craftsy through Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library. This platform offers more than 2,000 expert-led creative classes in everything from knitting to baking, and it’s all available at no cost to library cardholders.
Typically, online crafting courses can cost anywhere from $10 for short tutorials to hundreds of dollars for more in-depth courses, according to platforms like Skillshare and Udemy. However, with Craftsy, library cardholders gain access to a wealth of creative resources for free, saving both time and money.
“Craftsy opens up exciting opportunities for the community to explore new hobbies and develop their skills whenever it fits into their schedule,” said Library Manager Melissa Poole. “We’re thrilled to offer this valuable resource to our library cardholders, allowing them to invest their time in something truly creative.”
Craftsy provides step-by-step guidance from experienced instructors in a variety of creative fields. The platform allows learners to progress at their own pace, making it a flexible way to enhance skills and try new things. With live events, Q&As, and new classes added every month, Craftsy supplies something fresh to explore consistently.
The resource features a wide variety of online classes, including:
· Knitting
· Cooking and Baking
· Drawing and Painting
· Gardening
· Photography
Additionally, Craftsy offers a special section dedicated just to kids, making it easy for young creators to get involved in hands-on projects and explore their artistic side.
“These are just a few of the creative areas available on Craftsy,” said Poole. “With classes for all skill levels, Craftsy affords everyone the chance to develop new skills, explore passions, and connect with a community – all from home. This resource is a great way to inspire creativity and encourage lifelong learning in our community.”
