HARNETT COUNTY – Local District 11 Judge Jason Phillip Kimble was arrested on Monday afternoon for a charge of driving impaired and several other traffic violations.

Trooper G.C. Middlebrooks, of the N.C. State Highway Patrol, arrested Kimble and charged him with driving while impaired, reckless driving to endanger, misdemeanor child abuse and failure to reduce speed.

A Harnett County magistrate released Kimble without bond pending a court date of Oct. 11 in Harnett District Court.

Kimble, 44, resides on Brandon Drive in Lillington.

The arresting trooper has been contacted for additional information, but has not returned calls as yet.

Kimble was elected to fill a Judicial District 11 seat, presiding over Harnett, Lee and Johnston counties, in the November 2022 general election.

  1. Anyone want to lay odds that this judge will plead to a lesser offense and get a mere slap on the wrist? And that the GOP will continue to back and nominate him, and that the Harnett County Sheeple will re-elect him. #VoteOutIncumbents #ReapWhatYouVote #Hypocrites

  2. addiction knows no boundaries
it does not recognize names, titles, or status
it leaves empty carnage in places that once were full and vibrant

  3. Considering the multiple abuse/domestic violence cases he has laughed at, ignored, and disposed of, this doesn’t surprise me in the least. I’m sure they will go easy on him though.

  4. This is the most amazing thing I’ve seen today!! This judge showed extreme bias in my DVPO case even with all the facts at hand, and I am absolutely hoping they make him step down from his position after this stunt. I’m hoping the child involved was ok – it literally makes me smile to think of this entitled man in cuffs #yougetwhatyougive

  5. Why was he released with no bond? Had he been an ordinary citizen he would of had a bond. Was he not given one because he is such an outstanding citizen. Well, All the charges proof other wise. Did he have to go to court the next day for his first court appearance, or was that also dismissed. I thought Judges where supposed to set an example. Well, the Judge, Magistrate, and entire court system is setting a very bad one in this case. The only one who correctly done his job was the officer that arrested this man. Such a shame the favoritism that goes on in the court house!

  6. Would love to know his BAC especially since this was in the afternoon. Was he picking his child(ren) up from school?
Why was there no bond? These are very serious charges. Google Laura’s Law in NC for more information ….he should not be allowed to plead down at all.

  7. Let talk about the bond set for this guy how is that when a person that has never ran and always showed up for court dates gets a 10.000 dollar secured bond it’s not right…
