When Rev. Tommy Cook and his wife Robin were on a recent church mission trip to Ecuador, they received some devastating news. Their family dog 10 year old Zach (pronounced Zack) was missing from their South Fourth Street home.
Tommy and his family began their search all the way from Ecuador, calling area animal hospitals and animal service agencies.
Still today, more than two weeks since the couple returned home, their beloved Zach is still missing.
It seems the entire town of Smithfield is in on the search. The white Bichon Frise (poodle-like) dog weighs only 15 pounds and is an inside dog. It was wearing a light blue nylon collar.
Friends and family members have raised $1,000 to date as a reward being offered for Zach’s return. A dog tracker was brought in by the family and tracked a scent to Millie’s Hot Dogs on Brightleaf Boulevard where the scent went cold.
Driving around Smithfield, you will see signs about Zach all over town. If you know anything about Zach call 919-333-4248.
