No injuries were reported following the robbery of a local Dollar General store Thursday night.
Smithfield Police responded to the Dollar General at 829 S. Brightleaf Boulevard at 7:39pm after employees reported a man wearing a ski mask entered the business and at gunpoint demanded money.
The suspect, armed with a handgun, took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot. Police also said the gunman took 4 cartons of Newport cigarettes.
Police detectives are currently investigating the robbery. No arrests have been made.
