Donna White Advances In NC House Primary

Two Republicans from Clayton faced off Tuesday to see which one would advance to November in the race for the NC House District 26 seat being vacated by retiring lawmaker  Representative Leo Daughtry of Smithfield.

Donna White, a member of the Johnston County School Board, defeated Dennis Nielsen, who also ran unsuccessfully for the seat two years ago.

White received 5,585 votes, in unofficial results, to Nielsen’s 3,814 votes, 60 percent to 40 percent.

White will advance to face Rich Nixon, also from Clayton, in November.
