DOT Promises Fix At US 301 / US 70 Intersection
Complaints about a bumpy intersection will be addressed. The Town of Selma says they have received numerous complaints over the last several months about the uneven road surface at the intersection of US 301 and US 70. Hundreds of heavy trucks and thousands of cars travel through the intersection daily.
So many complaints were received town staff contacted the NC Department of Transportation about the problem.
Town officials announced this week the heavily-traveled intersection will be getting some much needed attention.
Mayor Cheryl Oliver said the DOT has promised to correct the issue. “Before this paving season is over, vehicles will be able to cross the Hwy 301/70 intersection on smooth pavement versus the rippled pavement that is currently there. I, along with many others, will be glad when these bumps in the road are a thing of the past.”
Officials expect the intersection to be repaved no later than November. JoCoReport.com Photo
