SMITHFIELD – No injuries were reported in a single vehicle traffic accident just before 11:00pm Saturday.
The accident happened at the intersection of Market and Fourth Street in Smithfield.
Authorities said the driver reportedly went through a nearby license check point without stopping. Moments later the motorist crashed into a light pole at the downtown intersection.
The vehicle was seized. The suspect was arrested on several charges by the State Highway Patrol.
Serves him right!
Indeed but why was he out at 11pm anyway? He should of been asleep preparing to go to church that next day.
Okay Boomer!
Poor light pole.
Could have been a “her”
Could have been a “cowboy”

Could been a “cowboy”
Looking at the car, it is a miracle that him or her (the driver) is alive. Glad no one else was injured but I also agree that it serves the driver right! I also agree, poor pole.
Was it Beth Wood again?
