Driver Arrested Following Two County High Speed Chase

A 22 year-old man is facing a long list of charges following a two county high speed chase. It began last Tuesday in Four Oaks and ended near Coats in Harnett County.

A Four Oaks police officer had stopped a driver for a traffic violation in the parking lot of the Speedway on US 301 near Keen Road.  The officer detected an odor of narcotics coming from the car.  The driver suddenly pulled away nearly striking the officer.

Two Four Oaks police officers pursued the driver, identified as Keason Kindale Stocks of Coats, into Benson and then into Harnett County where his car was finally stopped on Highway 27.  Drugs and a gun were located in the vehicle, according to police.

Stocks was charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, felony assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, felony possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver marijuana, resisting a public officer, carrying a concealed gun, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Four Oaks Police were assisted by Benson Police, the NC Highway Patrol, Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and Harnett County Sheriff’s Office.
