A wreck Sunday morning in Johnston County went unnoticed for about two hours.
The driver of a white passenger car reportedly swerved to miss two deer in the roadway, lost control and crashed into a heavily wooded area on Highway 42 East of Clayton near Thanksgiving Fire Road. The seriously injured driver was pinned inside the wreckage for about two hours until a passing Thanksgiving Fire Department firefighter spotted the crash and called for assistance.
It took crews about 20 minutes to cut the driver from the mangled wreckage before he could be transported by ambulance to Wake Medical Center for treatment.
