
SELMA – An accident on Buffalo Road just outside of Selma sent one person to the hospital and one to jail on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a witness, the driver of a gold Lincoln was passing a white Jeep in a no-passing zone, when faced with an oncoming car, swerved to avoid a head-on collision. He reportedly hit the Jeep which he had been passing, and both of the vehicles traveled off of the road to the left.

The driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. Her two passengers, including a child, escaped injury.

The State Highway Patrol investigated the accident and charged the driver of the Lincoln with DWI.
