The woman accused of striking four bicyclists with her car last month made her first appearance in Johnston County Court on Monday.
Donnie Marie Williams, 50, is charged with reckless driving to endanger, improper passing in a curve, and four counts of improper passing resulting in serious bodily injury.
On Monday, Judge Joy Jones assigned Williams a court appointed attorney. Williams is set to be back in court on the charges in May.
On February 20th, state troopers said Williams was traveling north on Massengill Pond Road when she struck four bicyclists from behind as she attempted to pass. The bicyclists, Christopher Graham, 34, Joel Arthur Lawrence, 57, Lynn Lashley, 57, and Michael Dayton, 60, sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries. Photos by John Payne
