The driver of pickup truck is facing charges after crashing his vehicle into the Advance Auto Parts at 5992 Highway 42 near I-40 in Cleveland.
Around 7:49pm Wednesday, the motorist was attempting to park his 1990 Ford pickup in front of the store but got confused and depressed the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal. The truck jumped over the parking stall barrier, the curb of the sidewalk and through the front glass doors of Advance Auto coming to rest 30 feet inside the business.
Damage to the building was estimated around $15,000.
The pickup truck sustained minimal damage.
Miraculously, the driver of the truck, employees and shoppers in the store all escaped without injury.
The driver, whose name was not immediately released, was cited by Trooper Z.B. Price with careless and reckless driving.
