The Highway Patrol is investigating a serious single vehicle accident Sunday night in eastern Johnston County.
Around 9:30pm, a pickup truck overturned in the 2100 block of Braswell Road outside of Princeton. A man in a Ford pickup ran off the roadway, struck a tree head-on, and then struck a second tree before being ejected, according to witnesses.
After being ejected, the truck overturned on top of the driver. The victim was pinned under the truck for about an hour before being freed by Brogden and Princeton Fire crews with the help of a neighbor who had a forklift.
The victim was rushed to WakeMed by Johnston County EMS. Speed may have played a factor. Photos courtesy JoCoFire.com
