Driver Grazed By Bullet During I-95 Shooting

Second Road Rage Incident Where Shots Were Fired

The driver of this white SUV stopped in the Big Boy’s Truck Stop parking lot on Bagley Road at I-95 after her vehicle was struck by a bullet on the interstate.

Johnston County authorities are investigating a shooting on Interstate 95 near Kenly Friday morning. It happened near the Bagley Road interchange (Exit 105).

The driver of a white SUV reported that she was traveling on I-95 near two other vehicles that were engaged in a road rage incident. She reported that a bullet was fired from one of the other vehicles and her car was struck. The bullet grazed her but luckily did not sustain any serious injury.

The victim was unable to give authorities a good description of the two vehicles involved. The victim said she was not a part of the road rage.

This is the second road rage incident in 24 hours on Interstate 95 in Johnston County where shots were fired. Around 8:20pm Thursday, a Selma man said he was driving a large truck between Smithfield and Four Oaks when a blue Honda van passed at a high rate of speed. The man said he caught up to the vehicle near Four Oaks. As he neared the van a bullet was fired striking his truck. He was not injured.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating both incidents. There is no evidence at this time linking the two cases.
