ARCHER LODGE – A woman was arrested for driving while impaired after she ran off Buffalo Road into the woods. The accident was reported just after 12:00am Friday in Archer Lodge.
A Volkswagen passenger car ran off Buffalo Road, struck two embankments and a pile of boulders before plowing about 50 feet into the woods. The vehicle sustained significant damage.
First responders reportedly found the driver sitting on top of her car in the woods. She was not injured. Troopers charged her with driving while impaired. The name of the suspect was not released pending completion of an accident report.
The Archer Lodge Fire Department, Johnston County EMS and State Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
