The Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal single vehicle crash Friday morning in northern Johnston County.
A resident heard what they thought was a crash near their home around 3:30am in the 8300 block of Antioch Church Road. A trooper found the crash involving an older model Chevy S-10 pickup.
It appears the driver of the pickup, the only occupant, ran off the rural roadway and overturned. The driver was ejected and died from their injuries.
Officials said there was no indication the driver was wearing a seat belt. Alcohol may have also been a contributing factor.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
