The State Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle crash in northern Johnston County that claimed one life.
The accident was reported at 8:11pm Friday on Pritchard Road near the Wake County line.
Troopers said Caleb Isaac Allen, 24, of Clayton was operating a Volkswagen Beetle on Pritchard Road when he lost control in a curve. Allen crossed the centerline then overcorrected causing the car to travel off the right side of the road. The vehicle traveled into a ditch, struck a culvert and several trees before overturning. He died at the scene.
Allen was not wearing a seat belt. Alcohol was not a factor. There were no passengers in the vehicle.
