Driver Leads SHP On Brief Pursuit

WILSON’S MILLS – A driver reportedly drove away from a Johnston County trooper during a traffic stop, leading to a brief Tuesday afternoon pursuit.

The trooper used a PIT maneuver to safely end the pursuit on Gordon Road, west of Wilson’s Mills.

The driver was uninjured but faces serious charges from the State Highway Patrol (SHP).

A piece of farm equipment suffered damage when the fleeing car struck it.

The name of the suspect was not immediately available.
